This family bible, originally bound in imitation leather, needed a new cover, but the client wanted to preserve the original artwork somehow.
After cleaning up the spine and adding a few layers of new spine lining, I decided to build a new cover for this book with the boards built up, with a cutout to inlay the cover piece we wanted to preserve.
I was able to create a new sturdy cover for the bible while saving what mattered from the original cover.
