As the new year begins, all I have to show are works in progress. I feel so grateful for this. It has been amazing year, full of change in the rest of my life, and it’s a blessing to have the constant of work to return to again and again. I’m still happily surprised that there are so many people out there who care about old books enough to have them preserved for the next generation, and it’s a privilege to be able to work on these heirlooms and artifacts. Having started grad school this past fall, I now spend most of my time reading on the screen. It’s been strange to transition from all the abstract thinking and typing at school to scraping old glue and matching dye colors at work, but perhaps these activities are not so different from each other. Happy new year, and may 2015 bring you many joys!
