Retirement IMG_0267

I am sad to announce that I will be “retiring” from working on books as of this week.  I have been in graduate school for two years to study something totally different–divinity school with the aim of working as a chaplain upon graduation–and now is the time for me to more fully transition into my next adventure.

I am happy to be leaving the business to Sarah Songer, a wonderful bookbinder based in San Francisco.  She will introduce herself in coming posts.

I cannot fully express how grateful I am to all my clients for the fascinating books you’ve brought into my life, for your stories and love for books.  It’s meant the world to me.

A Custom Wedding Album

This is a wedding album I designed.  The material for the album cover is a silkscreened runner, created by the talented bride for the wedding reception.  I stamped their initials in gold foil on the cover.IMG_0758

The photos, invitations, and other ephemera are inserted in the page and the gold border is drawn by hand.  The headbands are made of iridescent pink cloth.IMG_0759IMG_0762

The custom slipcase is wrapped in dark navy cloth.  Blue is the color of wisdom.IMG_0764IMG_0766
