This book came to me without a front cover and with a large tear on the front endsheet. Although the back cover had survived, it didn’t hold any information or inherent value to the client and so we decided to build an entirely new case for this family heirloom.
I mended the tear using paste and a strip of Japanese paper. After forwarding the text block, I built a new case in orange cloth and debossed the title onto it.
