Page Mends and Board Repair on a Charred Yearbook

This keepsake was mistakenly thrown into the fire and then rescued!  The fore-edge was badly burned and the bottom corners of the cover boards were also damaged.

I replaced the cover boards and pastedowns.  I also mended each page of the yearbook with Japanese paper.  When I put the book back together, I re-used the original ribbon but replaced the staple (which has been known to rust) with red linen thread, which blends in nicely with the cover cloth.
